Candidate Assessment

SkillCheck
Whether you are registering for temporary or permanent work, all candidates are asked to complete am | personnel’s technical assessment program. We use the SkillCheck accredited system and will assess your level of competency on a variety of different packages. SkillCheck’s questions are graded from Basic to Advanced level and your subsequent results will be collated on that basis.

SkillCheck incorporates the Microsoft suite of packages and can integrate other software packages as required. am | personnel’s assessment methods are tailored according to the role you are seeking and the level at which you are hoping to work. For instance, office juniors on the first rung of their career ladder may be assessed on their filing ability. Medical secretaries will complete audio typing assessments of medical correspondence and reports to evaluate their accuracy and knowledge of relevant terminology. All prospective PA’s and secretaries are tested on their copy typing.

When carrying out a temporary assignment for am | personnel, candidates need to be able to hit the ground running. As such, the SkillCheck assessments are an invaluable tool as they ensure all parties involved in an assignment - the agency, the client and yourself – know what you will be able to achieve right from the outset of a placement.

Whilst the SkillCheck tests are a great indicator of ability, we would not automatically put your application for a particular permanent role to one side if your test results were a little disappointing at the time of assessment. We would talk it through with our client, explaining that you may need an extended learning curve with a particular package. We are also more than happy to recommend training providers to help you enhance your portfolio of skills.

Your Interview
In order to tailor our search for your perfect job, we want to get to know you. As part of the registration process with am | personnel you will spend up to an hour with your designated consultant, with whom you will discuss your previous work experience and your career ambitions for the future, enabling us to formulate creative and innovative solutions to your job search.
